Each season at this park is an exemplar of the beauty of Minnesota. The spectacular colors of autumn, the brisk whiteness of winter, the burgeoning plants in the wetlands in spring, and the lush greenery of summer provide a three-dimensional landscape painting of natural pulchritude. The path along the St. Croix River is a manageable, yet active trek with no two steps showing the same view it seems. Various parts of the park recapitulate the state’s biodiversity: prairie, hardwood forest, pine stands.
