Awarded a Legacy Destination in 2013 by Conservation Minnesota and Minnesota Citizens for the Arts.
Several locations and organizations in the area have received Clean Water, Land, and Legacy funding.
Thanks to the Clean Water Fund,
- Lily Lake completed a multi-part retrofit of its water quality facilities to keep the popular recreation area clean and free of excess nutrients.
- Water quality improvements were made at McKusick Lake, the Marine St. Croix Watershed District, and Brown’s Creek.
Thanks to the Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund,
- The St. Croix Concert Series put on four chamber music concerts for the general public.
- ArtReach St. Croix provided outreach programs to the Stillwater Arts community
- Washington County 4-H put together a performing arts camp known as County Arts-In.
- The Wildwood Artist Series hosted a group of musicians for the Stillwater public.
- The city hosted Paint on the Water: The St. Croix Valley Hip-Hop Festival.
