Two Harbors: A Legacy Destination

Awarded a Legacy Destination in 2013 by Conservation Minnesota and Minnesota Citizens for the Arts.

Several locations and organizations in the area have received Clean Water, Land, and Legacy funding.

Thanks to grants from the Clean Water Fund,

Knife River will see a decrease its sediment and debris content, in order to protect the river’s natural beauty as well as the trout fisheries it supports.

Stewart River can prevent erosion of its banks, preserve fisheries, and return native flora to the area.

Larsmont Cottages  received a Source Water Protection Grant to install a well liner.

Castle Haven Cabins received a Source Water Protection Grant for well construction and sealing.

Thanks to grants from the Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund,

The Two Harbors Historic Walking Tours project is creating a script for a tour of the town’s history.

Arts on Superior allowed the group to feature performing and literary artists in local schools and improve arts education.

The Lake County Agricultural Society is working on a mural about the county’s history.

North Shore Players and Voyageur Artists  have hosted community performances by local and national artists.

Ecumen Scenic Shores Assisted Living can provide its residents with a weekly drum circle to improve and preserve their memory.
