The first time I ever saw a snowshoe hare, I was riding up the chair lift at Lutsen Mountains. The fact that I saw it at all was quite remarkable since it was in its leucistic phase, and was as white as the snow around it. Of course, the most stunning view would have to be looking out at Lake Superior from the top of Moose Mountain. I always pause a bit before bombing my way down Mid-America’s largest and tallest mountain. It’s breathtaking…in more ways than one!
Lutsen Mountains gets you on the ski hill fast with their ski-in ski-out lodging. And I can officially say I have gone swimming, outside, in the middle of winter, in Minnesota. A great way to relax after a day on the slopes.
