Lake Nokomis Park

Lake Nokomis is a great park for both land and water activities. Encompassing over 400 acres it includes almost 3 miles of pedestrian and bike paths as well as a multitude of different sports fields: baseball, softball, soccer, football and pickleball and tennis courts. There is also a playground, picnic area, and grill area. For aquatic recreation, there are two beaches, a boat dock, and a fishing pier.

One of my favorite features of Nokomis is the eatery Sandcastle, which offers fresh, local food and drinks and is much more than just a concession stand. Nearby, you can rent boats, bikes, stand-up paddle boards and other beach equipment.

Lake Nokomis also plays host to one of Minnesota’s famous winter events, the US Pond Hockey Championships. Hosted in January, the Pond Hockey Tournament has been known to boast attendance of 2000+ players from 46 states and multiple countries.

Nokomis is a great park year round!
